Atlanta pizza chain embraces the fun side of mushroom lore.

The giant psychedelic mushroom-themed cartoon characters that stand above the counter fool are all part of the package for Mellow Mushroom Pizza.

The characters are named Mel O. Mushroom, Dude Shroomington, Melody, Port, Toe and Bello Fungis and the Wizard, and serve as mascots of the Southeastern pizza chain that planted itself in Atlanta in the first half of the 1970s.
