Marijuana smoking - even heavy longterm use - does not cause cancer of the lung, upper airwaves, or esophagus, Donald Tashkin reported at this year's meeting of the International Cannabinoid Research Society.

Although the effects of long-term marijuana use causes changes to bronchial tissues, the evidence linking marijuana use to lung cancer have been effectively disproved, according to the largest study in this area to date.
