I heard the rumor that Crick was on acid when he realized the true shape of DNA many times over the years, but this reprint is the only link I can find that attempts to corroborate the story from first-hand accounts. I have to admit to seeing strands of DNA under the influence of psychedelics myself, but of course, I already knew what they looked like.
